Expertise Hub Co-operative is proud to host the Foreign Credential Recognition Conference 2026, bringing together internationally trained professionals, regulatory bodies, employers, service providers, post-secondary institutions, government representatives, and community partners from across Newfoundland and Labrador.
Foreign credential recognition plays an important role in ensuring that internationally trained professionals can contribute their knowledge, skills, and experience to their chosen fields. However, many continue to encounter complex requirements, fragmented information, and limited access to clear guidance and professional opportunities.
Over the past year, Expertise Hub Co-operative has conducted research, engaged with internationally trained professionals and key stakeholders, and examined barriers related to licensing, registration, employment readiness, supervised practice, and workforce integration. The conference will provide an opportunity to share these findings, elevate lived experiences, and explore practical and collaborative approaches to strengthening professional pathways.
The event will also mark the official launch of Bridgeto, a digital navigation platform developed through this research and engagement. Designed as a supportive starting point, Bridgeto provides profession-specific roadmaps, practical resources, and plain-language guidance to help users understand the steps, documentation, and trusted sources relevant to their journey.
Through presentations, panel discussions, and meaningful dialogue, the conference aims to advance a more transparent, accessible, and coordinated foreign credential recognition system - one that better supports internationally trained professionals and strengthens Newfoundland and Labrador’s workforce.
Participation is limited. Those interested in attending can submit an expression of interest.
