On July 9, 2025, Expertise Hub Co-operative hosted an Entrepreneurship Networking Event as part of the Empowerment Bridge Program - a partnership between Expertise Hub Co-operative and IENL – Study and Stay NL, funded by the Newfoundland and Labrador Office of Immigration and Multiculturalism.
The event brought together key business service providers, including Metro Business Opportunities, Advantage St. John’s, RBC, the Centre for Social Enterprise, PARO Centre for Women’s Enterprise, the Centre for Entrepreneurship, BDC, CSCNL, Genesis, Local Immigration Partnerships, Collective Interchange Co-operative, NLCU, CBDC, YMCA, and UNF Avalon. Participating organizations shared valuable resources and information about the support available within Newfoundland and Labrador’s entrepreneurship ecosystem.
Designed to support immigrants interested in starting or growing a business, the event welcomed more than 300 participants. Attendees connected directly with service providers, asked questions, explored available resources, and built valuable professional networks - an important step toward strengthening the inclusion of diverse communities within the province’s entrepreneurship landscape.
This successful gathering marked the beginning of a series of networking opportunities offered through the Empowerment Bridge Program. We are grateful to all participants and partner organizations for their commitment to supporting newcomers throughout their entrepreneurial journeys.
